American White Oak (Quercus Alba) generally ranges from Light to Mid Brown in Colour.
American Oak has a Very Strong & Attractive Grain Pattern featuring Medullary Rays producing a Beautiful Figure. Sapwood tends to be a lighter in colour than Heartwood but sometimes there can be little difference. American White Oak has Non-Porous Heartwood making it Suitable for use as Wine & Whisky Barrels.
American White Oak is rated as durable in terms of decay resistance so is most suitable for use in High Quality Interior Joinery, Exterior Joinery, Mouldings, Wood Flooring, Cabinet Making, Doors, Furniture etc.
White Oak Wood takes Nails & Screws Well, Machines Well, (giving a great finish), & is easily stained to give an excellent final product which can be polished if required.
