Description
DK88 Inward Opening E130 Fireguard Window
Our DK88 Inward Opening Triple Glazed Fireguard window is the most popular window type in Central Europe and are also popular in Scotland and the rest of the UK. Tilt and Turn Windows open inwards making them easy to clean from the inside and providing a large clear opening for Fire Escape purposes.
Our triple glazed energy efficient window conforms to the fire resistance class EI30 which means that it is resistant to fire for at least 30 minutes. This window also serves as a heat insulator – the average temperature of the surface on the opposite side of the fire will not exceed 140°C. Our fireguard window has been given the EI30 classification in accordance with the EN 16034:2014 standard (download certificate – pdf).
Test sizes 1120 x 2470 mm enables us to manufacture regular size windows as well as window based balcony door solutions in this window type. The sash has a tilt and turn function with additional micro ventilation if required. Hardware is ROTO concealed hinges with an espagnolette locking system.
It is very important to understand that if the window is left open, or in the ventilation position, it does not perform as a fire protection window – this product does not have an automatic closing system in case of fire.
The window is equipped with triple insulated glazing unit which includes 17 mm laminated Contraflam EI30 fire protection glass, fire resistant seals and gaskets are also used. Surface treatment is done with water based wood finishes the same as standard windows and doors.
In addition to the standard wooden window, we also offer an Aluclad fireguard window where the external face of the window is covered with aluminium profiles improving durability.
Fire protection glass is sensitive to temperature.
Scale of use is between -10oC and 45oC, In lower and higher temperatures the glass will turn opaque. This means that these triple glazed Fireguard Windows are not suitable in unheated rooms or where temperatures can rise very high (e.g. boiler room).

A ventilation restrictor device can be added to hardware to fix the sash in position after tilting. Maximum sash weight is 100 kg.
